Amelia Frey wrote an interesting article about what she thinks the most challenging aspect of journalism is. Her view on this was that holding the reader’s attention and keeping them interested it the most challenging, and I agree.
I know from experience, that when i’m studying for a current events quiz and scrolling through the news, the articles that have titles with murders and robbery and celebrities always catch my eye and stand out more than Trump this and Trump that.
She made a good point that the entertaining part also has to be written in a way that will be effective and that the reader will be able to “internalize it,” one of the steps in mass communication. All in all, what I got from Amelia’s article is that being a good journalist is tough because there are many different factors that go into journalism.
